THIS YEAR I WAS TEMPTED TO COMMIT SUCIDE. Due to some reasons , i couldn't take life any more see what exactly i did Did i actually comit the sucide or not? . . . . I know that sounds shocking. I was also surprised I had the thought. A good friend and mentor confided in me he had the same thoughts too. == If you cannot be anything, at least be kind with your words. == I recount an experience I had while in junior secondary school. I often came top of my class with parallel A’s. (My classmates are seeing this post, so I can’t lie ) After collecting my result one particular term, I went straight to my friends house to celebrate my win once again. Without anybody’s comment I knew I had put up a superlative performance, but my friends elder brother picked up my result, looked at it and smiled then uttered these words; “Secondary School is cheap, wait till you get to the university” What! You mean that’s all this dude had to say about my result. No na If you cannot be anything, at l

He said that the Federal Government would continue to do its best to push through the negotiations with the JOHESU to resolve all issues and call its members back to work. Mustapha stated this at the daily briefing of the task force on Thursday in Abuja. “Let me once again send a strong appeal to all health workers particularly, JOHESU members, that the nation can ill-afford any further disruption to its health systems,” Mustapha said. “The on-going strike has been very costly in terms of human lives, but such losses can be avoided. “Government shall continue to do its best to push through the negotiations with the unions, and hopefully, reason shall prevail.our correspondent   recalls that the FG had provided   an upd

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria, IMN, also known as Shiites, have attacked veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, over his role in a new movie, ‘Fatal Arrogance.’ In a statement signed by its Spokesman, Musa Ibrahim, and made available to us on Tuesday, the IMN said it found Edochie’s explanation of his reason for participating in the movie “flawed and his excuses unimpressive, irrational, and at best absurd.” The veteran actor had in a-12-minute video clip on his Facebook page, explained his role in the movie which the IMN believes was sponsored by the Nigerian army. “Firstly, any serious artist worth the name must, first of all, undertake some kind of serious research to get the facts of any script brought to him right. “This must be done through intense reading of the literature and interviews with scholars who are conversant with the facts. Pete Edochie did none of that. “Had he been bold enough to cross-check, he would have realized that genocide took pl

NAN reports that many essential places in the hospital, including the pharmacy, the medical records section and two of the main gates into the hospital were locked. The JOHESU Chairman, UCH Chapter, Mr. Adeolu Alli, said the strike became imperative after “a long period” — three years of waiting on the Federal Government. The government must meet our demands. “On September 30, 2017, there was an agreement with the Federal Government on some of these issues, most especially the adjustment of our salary structure. “Three months later, that was April and May 2018, we had to go on strike again becaus

Nigeria’s electricity, fuel prices the lowest in Central, West Africa – Buhari govt

Image
www.sparkyflux.com President Muhammadu Buhari led government says the price of electricity and fuel in Nigeria are the lowest in West Africa. Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, said this in a statement on Monday. He noted that with the price of crude inching up, the price of petrol locally was also bound to increase, hence the latest price of N162 per litre. “If, perchance, the price of crude drops again, the price of petrol will also drop, and the benefits will also be passed on to the consumers. The angry reactions that have greeted the latest prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) is, therefore, unnecessary and totally mischievous. “The government can no longer afford fuel subsidy, as revenues and foreign exchange earnings have fallen by almost 60%, due to the downturn in the fortunes of the oil sector. Yet, the government has had to sustain expenditures, especially on salaries and capital projects. Even though we have acted to mitigate the effect of the economic s
